10,000 Drarry fics on AO3

So I have this little bookmarklet thingy I set up to quickly check for new Drarry works on AO3. I've set the parameters to only show me completed works in English:

Search for completed Drarry

The total number of Drarry fics found is in the upper left-hand corner. I've watched it steadily increase over time, and it's been in the 9,000's for months and months. Well sometime in the early hours of today (October 11) the number of Drarry fics crossed over to 10,000!

Am I the only one who thinks this is cool?

It is! And then to think that, as our fandom is somewhat older than a few big ones as 1D or Sherlock, there are probably so many more Drarry fics not uploaded to ao3, but floating around somewhere on LJ and the Hex Files and whatever other sites there are being used (and were used back in the days).

Totally cool that drarry fics are so abundant. I wish I could apply some random magic and tell which ones were the awesomely good ones and which ones to skip. I pretty much just have to pull up fics and check if I can't tell by the tags or summary. I have my criteria for weeding things out, but it still leaves far more fics than I can possibly read. That is why recs are so important! I figure if a fic is outstanding, someone is gonna rec it. However, I'm sure that still leaves a whole lot of fics that I miss. :(

To keep up with new Drarry fics on AO3, you could also subscribe to this feed. Every new post with the Drarry tag will then automatically show up on your friends' list.

Only drawback is, you'll only be notified of the very first post to AO3 via the feed; you'll have to subscribe to the fic directly at AO3 to keep up with updates.

As I said, this one will go directly to your f'list, complete with AO3 link. But yeah, half the time I subscribe to something that sounds promising in summary, and then turns into a complete dud. *sigh*

I get the AO3 drarry feed and it comes across my lj newsfeed. It gives me a chance to look through them, but there is still no way to know, without looking a fic up, how many kudos and comments there are.

That's super cool! I remember when fanfic.net hit 100,000 Harry Potter fics. I still have a celebratory posm someone wrote saved to my computer somewhere. Milestones are awesome!
