Master list of my-drarry-recs (for Capitu's birthday)

Happy Birthday capitu!

I can't write, so I made you a spreadsheet. (You already knew I was doing this as you got an advanced look a few weeks back, but we'll just pretend this is a surprise :)

This is a list of all the recs posted at my_drarry_recs from 7 May 2012 through 24 Feb 2015. That's nearly 3 years of continuous reccing.

You can view the spreadsheet online at the link above or by clicking on the screenshot below:

 

 

As you can see, there are three fields: the URL to the post at my_drarry_recs, the author's name, and the title of the fic. You can toggle between 3 views depending on which column you want to sort by.

Note that whenever a work and its sequel were recced in the same post (e.g. The Corruption Sequence by beren_writes), I split that into two (or more) separate records in the sheet . So there are more entries in this sheet than there are individual recs posted at my-drarry-recs.

Some stats and trivia for fun:

• The first rec posted is for Damned If You Do by tigersilver, which was posted on 7 May 2012
• The total number of rec posts made (some of which include more than one fic) = 1,247
• The total number of fics recced so far (when counting sequels as separate fics) = 1,291
• The most frequently recced author is dysonrules with 34 posts = 38 fics
• The shortest fic recced is Harry's Whore by enchanted_jae at 1,170 words
• The longest fic recced is Secrets by Vorabiza at 411,000 words
• The oldest fic recced (that I can accurately date) is Cure for the Flu by ivyblossom, published 16 Dec 2002

Wow, darling. This, once again, I'm speechless. I can't believe you'd do this, only I totally can. This is wonderful. I've been meaning to make a spreadsheet for ages. I know I mentioned it to you and we talked and when I got your spreadsheet (truly, a data base it's what it is), I was, and still am, stunned. You're amazing!

And look at those shiny stats! dysonrules? XD Well! I'm not surprised. LOL And wow, I had forgotten my first rec was Damned If You Do (It's got hung!Harry, that fic. ;)). I remember Harry's Whore, this was before I actually met Jae through livejournal. So many memories. <3

I'm a bit like Ollivander. I remember every fic I've ever reac. ;) LOL

I always try to rec stories that are over 2,000 words, not because shorter stories aren't amazing. God, they are, they so, so are, but I tend to leave the shorter reads and rec them at my personal journal because I have this idea that when people go looking for a rec in a list, they are trying to find something a little longer, but I'll probably change that "policy" because there's so much goodness left out. ^^

I know what you mean about the shorter fics--I think when they're done well they can be so, so good, but I notice that they don't often get widely recced (and not just by you, but by most reccers). It's probably true that people are looking for longer fics when they look for recs--you want someone to assure you that reading the fic will be time well spent, and it doesn't take so long to read a shorter fic :)

The one I sent you has a few gaps in it, I noticed. I can send you a more complete version ♥

That's right. I usually rec shorter fics at my journal, specially in fest season with mini_fest & hd_owlpost going, because I do love short fic. Man, I LOVE and read shorter fics daily and love them. *nods*
