Crowd-sourcing HD fan-fair: Progress Report
This is just to update those interested in the status of the HD-fan-fair Crowd-Sourcing Data Project where we're hoping to find the answer to the burning question: Who tops more?
My original spreadsheet only contained data for 111 fics from the fests, out of228 231. I didn't even have the titles or URLs for the rest. But after my call for help,
cagnurit came through like a champ and over the weekend entered the rest of the needed title/author/URL/date/summary data for the 120 missing fics. She also added topping and bottoming information for several of these fics and others as well.
birdsofshore also added some top/bottom info, and I went through and made sure all the data was consistently formatted and clearer for visitors.
So at this point, we have complete information on 'who tops' for 64 fics rated R or NC-17. For another 20 R/NC-17 fics,
capitu gave no 'bottom' tags in her recs, so I have assumed there was no penetration. What we're still missing is top/bottom information on 66 remaining fics rated R or NC-17.
That's it. Just 66 fics. I have highlighted in light red the records in the spreadsheet we still need info for. I invite you to take a look at the spreadsheet (find the link in this post, or PM me) and enter data for any fics you may have read.
**If you add or change any data, it would be helpful to leave a note in the "data entry by" column so I know who to thank and what has been added. You can also add a comment right in the same cell if there's data you disagree with. Just highlight anything you do so I can see it and make a note of it. Thanks so much for all the help so far!

Who Tops More in HD-fan-fair: Final Results
Background: Inspired by the comments on my Who Tops More post, I have decided to try running the same analysis just on the fics written for thehd_fan_fair fest from 2009-2014. But I need to get the complete set of data first, so I set up a public Google spreadsheet in the hopes of crowd-sourcing it. Anyone who wants to can add to the spreadsheet and help fill in the gaps in the data. (Note: my original post suggesting the crowd-sourcing is f-locked to hide the spreadsheet URL from vandals, but if anyone is interested in helping with this project, just PM me so I can send you the link).

Light green = no info from capitu's rec, need confirmation
Light blue = optional stuff you can just ignore :)
If you add anything in a colored cell, you can leave the color as-is. I'll see the difference in the content easily. But if you don't mind adding your name to the "data entry by" field, that would make it easier for me to thank you :)
If you wanted to change any other info on the table, or wanted to call attention to something that could be wrong, then if you boldface your changes, or color the cell in some way (almost any way) I'll see it too.
Does that make sense? I was trying to keep it simple. I go back in everyday and clean up anything that looks messy, so don't worry about formatting. I'll fix that if needed.
Thanks!

My own fic Beekeeping (#121) is listed as bottom Draco but I've also seen it described as "implied possible switching but Draco bottoms". Which I think is accurate, in the graphic scene Draco bottoms but it isn't an established role. (Harry says "Me in you or you in me" and Draco says "anything".)
I'll do a few more if I get a chance!

You know, this is why the question of 'who tops' is so tricky. Because different people will have different definitions of what that means, even despite what may seem like a rather clear distinction. Because for me, "implied possible switching but Draco bottoms" sounds exactly right for that sort of situation, and just labelling it "bottom!Draco" doesn't quite capture it. But at the same time, it would be a lot harder to do any kind of statistical analysis if we allowed 17 different categories of topping and bottoming :) So giving it a simple label but then adding explanatory notes as well for anyone who cares is probably the way to go.
Thanks again!
