HD-Erised 2016: Veterans and Newcomers

As I was looking over the anonymous masterlist for this year's hd_erised fest, I was struck by how many veterans of the HD fandom were still creating fanworks for the fest, even as many newcomers are joining for the first time. I think this speaks to how popular HD fandom has been and still remains!

So everyone can see what I mean, I've organized this year's participants into a table sorted by the year they first published an HD fic or artwork, so far as I know*

I think you've missed me. I did Erised this year as a pinch hitter and published my first H/D in 2011. I think I did a couple of drabbles before this but I can't remember. It's absolutely horrible but here it is, LOL

Wow, that's quite the compilation! You know, if you'd have quizzed me on what my first H/D was, I would have been wrong, because I would have said Something in the Middle or Beyond, which I wrote for Shelly's birthday in January of 2013. But lo and behold, there's a drabble set from May of 2012! Once I read it, I remembered it, but it really surprised me to see it nonetheless. I made an appreciative sound over my own last line, too, and then had to laugh at myself! ;-P :-D

I absolutely love that you compiled and posted this. So cool! It's so interesting to see when other people first posted. Looking at the 2012 list, I didn't realize those people were newbies right along with me. I love that you have records on when people first posted. It's like our fandom has an official archives department!

Just went on a walk down memory lane through an old photobucket account and found H/D stuff of mine from 2005. The old account I used to post on is thankfully long gone though. And actually, the icon I'm using now is from 2007, so there you go!

Whoa this is so cool to see laid out like this, especially since I consider myself fairly late to the Drarry fandom game (2014 as you duly noted!), so I wasn't around for when the HD fandom community here was at its height. Thanks so much for taking the energy and the time to create this!

I've only recently stumbled onto your blog; on top of your recs, I really like all your stats - it's such a breath of fresh air to look at your Drarry stats when I'm taking a break from reading uh...
