Art recs: a dozen Drarry kisses

Today I'm reccing a dozen wonderful pieces of fanart featuring romantic Drarry kisses.

Curious how obvious the organizing principle is for how I arranged the art in the table. Hint: it's not by date :)

* I looked everywhere to find out the name of the artist of this piece (Snog) and found conflicting watermarks. On the site I linked to, the artist is given as "gorgidas" but on other versions, the watermark reads "The Theban Band". So I'm not entirely sure about this one. If you know better, please enlighten me!

I love kisses too - I just noticed that most of the Drarry fanart I had saved to my computer featured kisses, so I figured I should make a post about it :) I'm glad you liked it!

This is beautiful and wonderful and just what I needed to kickstart my H/D feels this fine day.

I LOVE the organising principle! it made me so happy to see them all lined up like that. The bottom row is slightly niggling but you did your best with it ;)

Yes, the bottom row does make me twitchy too! But these were the pics I wanted to feature, so there wasn't much I could do about it. Glad my organizing principle makes sense to someone ♥

Thank you! I'm always surprised myself when I find a new-to-me artwork that is actually years old. I'm like, "how have I never seen this before?" :)

The Theban Band ...

... is the fannish name of artist Gorgidas Epaminondas, so I guess here you should refer to him/her as "Theban Band". :-) (If you click the thumbnail in Gorgidas' DeviantID, you'll get to their ThebanBand ID on deviantart; I've first seen their works years ago at squidge.org -- check out the other fandoms for more lovely pictures of boys and men kissing!)

I've never managed to make proper previews of art in a post. One day you have to tell me how. :)

This honestly took me forever! Not only did I have to collect all the art, but I had to verify all the artists and find working links to the artists' pages. I didn't want to link to a page where the art had been posted by someone other than the artist (or fest) which happens way too often on tumblr. And then I wanted to find dates which I have no idea how to do on deviantart! I basically just guessed based on the earliest comment :( Do you know how to navigate that site?

So it was a lot of using google image search to check that I had the right versions from the right sources.

And then I cropped all the images myself. I just used picasa, but any off-the-shelf photo management tool should be able to do it. I know you have nifty skills for making banners and icons, so this should be old hat for you :)

So I cropped each piece of art and saved a 100 pixel wide version of it and uploaded all of those to my LJ scrapbook and linked from there. That's how I did it, but there's probably an easier way. I just don't know what it is!

Ohhhhh! Yeah, the ~long~ way. In my head I figured it was something like that. I guess I was hoping it was easier. :D

I have no idea how to navigate DA. The problem is that that side seems to have a firewall that is incompatible with Bolivia, or something prevents my country from fully accessing because whenever I've tried to browse around (tried several browsers and from different places - ipad, etc.), it crashes my computer and connection. It's actually not worth it all the trouble it gives me, and on top of that I'm never able to actually *see* the art there. :( So sad, yeah?

It's sad, but Deviantart isn't all that easy to navigate even when you're not blocked by a firewall. I mean, I can find what I want if I already know exactly who the artist is and what I'm looking for, but general browsing is a PITA for me. I keep getting suggestions for "similar" pieces of art to what I'm looking at that aren't necessarily all that similar or of the same pairing.

And the tabs for an artists gallery really aren't as visible as they should be. I know how to find them now, but for a long time I had to hunt for them.

But my biggest issue is (of course) the date thing. I just cannot figure out how to tell when something was posted. Maybe it's obvious and I just missed it. If so, I hope someone will clue me in!
